First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brand Iron.
Marketing
I had two interviews where I met an HR person, the CEO, and a client. I had to wait for more than an hour as the client I was applying with was late. They made me leave and called me back 10 minutes later as the client just arrived. Some of them were pretty unprofessional during the interview. A few days after, I received a call to offer me a job with them (not with the client) telling me they would send an email with a contract for me to sign. I waited a couple of days and tried to call them back, as I had no news from them. They simply ghosted me and never returned my calls. Truly unprofessional. Would not recommend.
- Could you please tell me a bit about yourself?
Content Writer
I applied, interviewed, and got hired within one week. I first met with the COO, which was a fairly standard interview besides hearing about how the team is never on top of anything - in a passive-aggressive way. In my final interview, the CEO joined. He stared at his phone the entire time until it was his turn to ask me questions. He asked overtly vague questions like "How are you with technology?" but didn't respond as I asked clarifying questions. He would smile and say "Well I don't know." It was obvious he was seeing if I could psychologically handle it, which was bizarre and speaks to the company's character. He also asked me about my values and upbringing, which I found a little off-putting and out of place for a job interview. I also found out my first week that I would become a brand manager on top of my hired duties, which was never made clear to me throughout the hiring process.
- What's your comfort level with technology?
- Can you share some details about your background and personal values?
- How would you describe your communication skills?
Intern
It was a good interview. They asked good questions and were interested in what I wanted. It was with the Art Director and Chief Creative Officer. They explained the role and what I can expect to learn and to not be afraid to ask questions. The interview lasted about forty five minutes.
- What is it that you want to learn?
Digital Marketing Specialist
The company was very thoughtful and asked good questions, yet I did not feel intimidated. I was impressed as to how concerned they were about me, what I liked to do, in what type of environment I liked to work in and what I wanted to accomplish in my career.
- What do you think we can do to help you succeed?
