First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brand Addition.
Merchandiser
It was a really relaxed and informal chat, more like a conversation than a proper interview. I met with the buying manager and a senior merchandiser at their showroom in Manchester. The senior merchandiser was really nice and friendly.
- Could you tell me about your experience and what you know about our company?
Photographer
Got an email for an initial interview with more details to follow. It felt like a screening, with no talk about pay or specific job info. The second interview was more in-depth, but still no mention of compensation or benefits. I never got any feedback or criticism. After a good talk where I asked for clarity on concerns, I was told it wasn't an ideal fit. No concerns were raised by them during or after the interview, just an email saying thanks for my time.
- How did you find out about Brand Addition?
- What can your experience bring to the team?
- Can you describe your creative process?
PHP Developer
I applied online and then got an email to set up an interview. They said it would be in-person. I traveled for an hour and a half to the office, only to find out nobody knew why I was there. Then, they told me it was supposed to be a 30-minute phone interview. I ended up doing the interview in the office lobby without a private room. After that, they sent me a tech task online, which was the second stage. It had nine questions, and some felt straightforward while others seemed pointless. I made a mistake trying to save my work and come back to it, but it wouldn't let me resume the same question later. Because of this, I missed passing the test by 3%. I emailed the manager about it right away but never got a response.
- Tell me about any e-commerce experience you have.
- What's your experience with Magento?
- Are you more into frontend or backend development?
Commercial Analyst
Applied online. About a week later, the internal HR contacted me to set up a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager. If you pass this initial interview, you should theoretically have a second one where your Excel skills will be tested. The whole process is pretty straightforward and the interview is okay. The downside is that if you don't have the 'X-factor,' they won't bother giving you feedback, even if you ask. Forget about timelines or timeframes, you won't hear from them.
- Could you describe your typical daily responsibilities?
- How do you manage and execute projects?
- What salary are you targeting?
