First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Branching Minds.
Manager
The Interview process at Branching Minds was one of the best I have ever been through. There was clear communication throughout the entire process from both HR and the hiring manager. It was a very efficient and thorough process that felt challenging, and exciting to be apart of the whole time.
- Can you outline your strategy for making a significant contribution in this position within the initial 30, 60, and 90 days, and can you provide concrete examples?
Sales
I was given a clear timeline for the next steps, and the management was friendly and relatable. They had a realistic interview process and were quick to answer my questions. The interviews felt like a genuine conversation with people who are passionate about education and student success. The entire process took 2 weeks and involved 3 steps.
- Can you describe your approach to overcoming customer objections?
Regional Director of Partnerships
My video interview was a no-show, and the interviewer didn't show up. I emailed them to see if they needed to reschedule or were just running late, and they replied a few hours later stating that a client visit had run over. They weren't very apologetic and suggested rescheduling for the next week. However, they didn't actually have any openings on their calendar for the following week. I didn't continue with the interview process after this because I don't have time to waste on scheduling mix-ups.

People Operations Coordinator
There were two interviews with two different people. The company said they wanted to hire urgently, which usually means it will take them a long time to get back to you. After the first week of waiting, I got an email saying they were sorry for the lack of update because of internet outages. I appreciated the update. But every week after the interview was a waiting game with dead silence, except for promises of an update that never came. I emailed them on January 27th, since I hadn't heard back after the internet outage issue. I didn't get a response. So I messaged them on a different platform. The excuse for the lack of update this time was COVID and other winter bugs, and they said they'd get back to me that week, which I knew was a lie. Another week went by, and I still didn't hear back. I emailed them on February 6th to withdraw my application. Coincidentally, they emailed me back immediately saying I was sent a rejection email on January 27th, but the ATS was broken, so it didn't send. When I reached out on January 31st, they didn't bother saying I didn't get the job, even though they knew I wasn't going to get it. They dragged me along with hope every week, saying they'd communicate, but I was ghosted and lied to. They blamed the broken ATS for not sending the rejection email, even though I could have been told weeks ago that I wasn't getting the position.
