So the good news is they were clear about what they wanted. The bad news is they expected me to spend a whole week on an assignment, but didn't even bother to give brief feedback. That's pretty uncool. What's really ugly is that if you're from the US or Europe, you apparently don't have to do this coding assignment. Ghosting is unprofessional, but ghosting after a massive assignment is even worse. Round 3 was a take-home coding assignment that took a week. I submitted it and got a short rejection email about 10 days later, no feedback. Round 2 was with the hiring manager/reporting manager. It wasn't much of an interview, more like them explaining the role. They did ask if I had questions, which I saved for later. Round 1 was a general HR round asking about previous salary and interest in the role.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was super organized, and the recruiting team always kept me in the loop about what to expect, what was coming next, and when things would happen. For me, it went like this: first, a 30-minute screening call with the recruiting lead. Then, a 30-minute video chat with the hiring manager. After that, there were about 3-4 hours of panel interviews with five team members, and I got a detailed schedule beforehand showing who I'd talk to and what topics would be covered, like technical stuff, company values, and team fit. Finally, I had a presentation where I did a mock implementation with some team members playing the clients. They'll check your professional references near the end. Compared to other places I interviewed, Branch's process was the most on point. I felt supported the whole way and never had to wonder if I should follow up because they were quick and clear with all their emails. The material was tough because Branch's product is pretty technical and complex. I spent a lot of hours getting ready for the technical interview and the presentation, but it paid off, so I'd definitely recommend putting in the time for those parts.

The interview experience was quite good overall. The HR team was super responsive and gave us all the info we needed before each round. There were 8 rounds in total. It began with an initial screening, then the hiring manager, followed by 4 back-to-back rounds covering industry knowledge, branch, team fit, and communication. After that, there was a mock project kick-off meeting, and finally, the bar raiser round.
