Warehouse Operative
First there was a basic maths and english test. Then an interview asking about your experience and how the job can take you in your career. You are left alone in a room to work out multiple choice questions. If you are successful, you get an answer pretty much straight away.
- Tell me about your previous experience that is relevant to this role.
- In what ways do you see this job contributing to your career progression?
Manager
The culture here is one of the worst I've experienced, run by self-absorbed narcissists who really like hearing themselves talk. They use outdated systems and processes. The company claims to care about its people, but in reality, they're focused on protecting their small profits as much as possible.
- What are your career aspirations for the next three years?
Transport Manager
I had two interviews, the first and second stage, about a week and a half ago. I've followed up twice and left two messages, but I haven't heard anything back regarding a decision. I spent 6 hours preparing a presentation that they asked for a copy of, which felt like I was doing their job for them. It was a total waste of 2 days. I wouldn't recommend interviewing with them, and definitely don't give them a copy of your presentation if you do.
- How would you engage with a newly assigned team?
Accounts Creation Clerk
Applied on their site, got a call a few days later for an interview. There was a bit of confusion about the time, but it got sorted out. When I got there, they told me the job description was for a different position. They gave me the correct one and asked if I was still interested. I agreed to proceed. The interview itself was weird because of the mix-up, and neither interviewer took notes. I was asked standard questions, which was tough since I prepared for a different role. I was interviewed on Friday and got a rejection on Monday, which was fast. What's puzzling is they re-advertised the job with the correct description, claiming they met candidates who matched the criteria better.
