First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Braintrust.
VP Sales
It was a disjointed and unorganized interview process. I was ghosted after my call with the CEO, which was surprising since he told me to proceed. It felt like an early-stage role, and there wasn't a clear growth strategy. They seemed to just want to add headcount and expected people to figure things out on their own.
- Can you tell me about your life story?
AI Tutor
So, for these LLM type jobs, we usually start with a quick chat to see if you're motivated and have the right background. Then, there's a technical interview where we'll dive into things like Transformer basics, how to fine-tune models, RLHF, how we measure performance, and making things scalable.
- Can you tell me about your future career aspirations?
Content Marketing Specialist
I recently had an interview that was entirely conducted by AI. They asked general questions about the role and specific scenarios, asking me to explain how I'd react to certain work challenges and problems. It was an interesting experience – no human interviewer, just me and the algorithm, but the questions were surprisingly well-crafted.
- How would you approach a scenario involving an ambiguous labeling task or differing opinions among team members regarding the right classification?
Senior Software Engineer
I thought the company was pretty sharp with a solid business model. The interview process involved a video call, a coding challenge, and then another video interview. My second interviewer was a bit of a downer, honestly. He started by criticizing my previous client's business model, which I thought was out of line, and he was really opinionated about some software stuff. He just came off as kind of annoying, like someone I wouldn't want to collaborate with. Oh, and they also record you without getting your okay first, which felt pretty shady.
- What is your opinion on TDD, and do you practice it?
- Could you describe your approach to using git rebase?
- What's your workflow regarding feature branches in Git?
