Account Manager
Applied online and heard back quickly to schedule a phone interview for a few days later. It was a 30-minute call with basic getting-to-know-you and work history questions. I really liked the interviewer, they were friendly and made me feel comfortable. Then, the next week, I had an in-person interview. This involved a Wonderlic test and interviews with 4 team members. It felt very positive and comfortable, and they stressed being professional but also showing your personality. The questions were similar to the phone screen but more situational, like "Give me a time when...". If you can talk about your experience and how you handled things, it's pretty straightforward. This lasted about 1.5 hours. Right after leaving, I got a call to come back the next day for a second in-person interview to speed things up. This time, I met with 3 more team members and an executive for another 1.5 hours. The questions were similar but a bit more in-depth. They said I'd hear back in a few days. Two days later, I got a call with an offer! The whole process with Braintree was fast but well-organized, positive, and comfortable, which is rare. I enjoyed seeing the team's connection and learning about their culture. Being there confirmed it was the right place for me.
- What is the most difficult aspect of working with you, according to your coworkers?
- What is the most difficult thing about working with you, in your coworkers' opinion?
Account Manager
Of all the interview processes I did in August (around 8, including Braintree's), Braintree's took the longest and was the most confusing. Most of my other interviews started and finished faster than Braintree's, and like Braintree, I was only asked to prove my ability once in skills assessments. Braintree, however, had a take-home Excel test, a Wonderlic test, an in-person Excel test, and a credit card processing knowledge test. Honestly, the sheer number of assessments for what seems like an entry-level role, based on Glassdoor, is a major turn-off, especially since I have years of experience and am only changing careers. My advice to Braintree is to simplify things and trust your candidates more. You risk losing good people to faster companies or because candidates are put off by your lack of trust.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your interest in Braintree?
- In your own words, how would you explain Braintree's business to someone unfamiliar with it?
Account Manager
I applied online and heard back the next day for a 20-minute phone interview with basic questions. Then, I was invited to the office for an in-person interview. This included a quick IQ test, followed by meeting with current Account Managers. They interviewed me while I also got to ask them questions. This part was relaxed and lasted about an hour. After that, I got an email for a second interview. This second interview involved meeting people from different departments. They went over my resume and asked questions. Finally, I met with the COO for an interview. The main goal seemed to be assessing if I was a good fit for the role. The position requires strong technical skills for handling credit card transaction questions for accounts, as well as data analysis using Excel sheets. I really liked the Braintree atmosphere and the relaxed environment. There's a clear sense of teamwork and mutual encouragement among the staff.
- What's the worst thing your colleagues would say about working with you?
