First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BrainStation.
Coordinator
The interview was 3 rounds, the first was with the VP. The second round was with the direct Manager and VP, and included a presentation (since a big part of the job is giving presentations). The final round was with the CEO, which made it feel like a small business even though it was a large company.
- Can you tell me about your experience with events and juggling multiple tasks?
Sales
I had an in-person interview that unexpectedly turned into a final interview while I was there. The interviewer was 20 minutes late to pick me up. They seemed uninterested, made minimal eye contact, and asked very few relevant questions, which felt disrespectful. When I inquired about salary, they wouldn't provide any numbers, even when I asked again for a ballpark figure. This was surprisingly immature for someone in a sales leadership position. I definitely wouldn't engage with this company again.
- Could you tell me what your parents do for a living?
Customer Success Coordinator
I had a first stage zoom call with the Recruiter where they told me that the role was already filled. I would’ve preferred to be informed about this before the interview so I could have had time to look at other roles. The recruiter then suggested I might be a good fit for a different role and we discussed my previous experience. Following the call, I sent the recruiter a list of other coordination jobs I was interested in. A few days later, I got a generic rejection email without any explanation. I replied asking for more details but never heard back. I personally won't be applying again as they showed little care towards me as a candidate and the overall experience.

- Can you walk me through your previous work experience?
Client Success Coordinator
It started with a chat with the Senior Talent Specialist about general interest in the role. Then, the VP of Sales asked more in-depth questions. The next day, I went into the office to meet the CEO, which was super casual and a great chat. Unfortunately, they decided to pass because other candidates had more experience. They sent a generic rejection email, and when I asked for more feedback, they ghosted me. The whole experience felt impersonal and like a waste of time. The job title was also misleading, as it was really an admissions coordinator role. I found out they re-advertised it, which is a bit weird.
