So, I went through this whole interview thing for Trainee SQA Engineer at Brain Station 23, starting July 3rd, 2025, and finished August 11th, 2025. It was quite a process, took a while, but it worked out, and I got the offer, thank God. First off, there was an online MCQ and written test, done with AI proctoring. It covered stuff like Testing, QA, basic automation code, MySQL, figuring out C++ errors and output, OOP, making test cases, test plans, and writing bug reports. Then came a quick 10-minute online chat, mainly about my Test Strategy and this automation project I put on my CV. After that, it was an onsite automation challenge. They gave me 3 hours to work on an E-Commerce site, trying to do certain flows using automation. I had to use POM, Data-Driven Testing, and XPath/CSS selectors. Phase 4 was another onsite interview, this time for over an hour, totally technical. They grilled me on QA, Testing, MySQL queries, OOP, and threw a bunch of scenario-based questions at me, from easy to hard. Finally, an online HR interview where we talked about company rules and my background. They said I'd hear back in 7 days about joining right away, waiting a bit, or a rejection. It was pretty intense and challenging overall, but glad I got through it.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • Can you explain the distinctions between Black Box and White box testing, Regression testing, and also between Smoke and sanity testing, specifically concerning test strategy?
  • Could you provide a MySQL query for Joining?
  • Could you provide a MySQL query related to RDBMS?

The interview started with an online MCQ exam with 50 questions covering basic DSA, output finding, infix to postfix conversion, math, puzzles, and graphs. Since it was online, many likely used ChatGPT, so honest candidates might have been disadvantaged. The second round was an in-person exam at their office, lasting 2 hours. It included 9 coding questions and 25 MCQs. The coding questions were quite easy, but the online IDE was difficult to use, and the input/output handling wasn't clearly explained, leading many to fail due to improper code input.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • Code to remove spaces from a string
  • Find the factorial of a number
  • Rotate an array by k positions
