First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boyd Company.
Engineer
Had an initial 15-minute call. They said they would schedule a second call but never did after the screening. However, the process was fast to get a callback. The screening call was to discuss the role and what they expect.
- What's your motivation for wanting to work at this company?
- Can you tell me about your relevant work experience?
Corporate Controller
I was told to set up a 20-min call for the next day after I sent my resume. An HR person from a third party did the call. It started on time, and they were really good at explaining who they were and what the call would be like. They were also super clear about what happens next in the hiring process.
- Have you implemented new systems before?
- Do you have any experience in public accounting?
- What's your highest level of education?
General Manager
It was a really drawn-out process. They had me do a bunch of personality tests, but honestly, it all comes down to whether the CEO likes you. If he does, you're in. The rest of the people there seemed really out of touch, like they were from another era, which was a bit unsettling.
- The company's direction is unclear; how would you propose to address this?
- Show us what we need.
- The company doesn't know what it wants; what would you do?
Multimedia Designer
Had an HR call for basic details, then a discussion with the Team Manager about the role and responsibilities. After that, the Marketing Manager talked about the role in more detail and company culture. Finally, a call with HR about packages and benefits.
- Can you describe your skillsets and relevant experience?
- What challenges did you encounter in your prior position?
