B2B Manager
The initial interviews with the recruiter and the hiring manager seemed positive. I was informed it would likely take about three weeks to get an update on the next steps, which felt longer than usual. I sent a thank-you note to the hiring manager the following day. After four weeks passed with no word, I reached out to the recruiter to inquire about my application status, but I didn't receive a response from either the recruiter or the hiring manager.
- Can you share an instance where you utilized data to guide your decision-making?
Director of Customer Acquisition
I had a phone screen, then a call with the hiring manager. After that, there was a 3-hour on-site with 5 people. This final interview included meeting potential direct reports, a peer director, and then two interviews with Finance and IT. The very last meeting was with the hiring manager again. The first four interviews all painted a picture of the same role, but the last interview with the hiring manager described a completely different job. He was new too, so maybe he didn't know the role or he wanted to change it. I was interested after the first four interviews, but not the role he described. I didn't hear back for over a week after the in-person.
- Would you be alright with getting into the details of the work?
- Is it okay with you to spend most of your time, like 85%, working with data?

Marketing
I applied online and then had a 30-minute phone interview with the recruiter. After that, I was invited for a first round of interviews which were 3 hours long with some of the team members. Then, I had a second and final round of interviews which were 4 hours long with the CEO, COO, CMO, and other senior staff. The whole experience was pretty quick and easy, and the recruiter was nice and kept me updated. I was a bit worried about interviewing with so many people, like 10 in total, which felt excessive even though I get wanting to make sure the culture fit is right. I had to follow up after a week to get an update and was told they went with someone else.
- Can you share the biggest obstacle you've encountered in your life and what lessons you took away from it?
Marketing
The interview process had 4 stages. It started with a recruiter call, then a hiring manager interview, followed by meetings with team members and cross-functional team members. The final stage was an interview with the director of the department. The process felt a bit unorganized, and the recruiter who was managing it left the company partway through.
- Can you tell me about times you've collaborated with different teams?
- What's your background with executing digital marketing campaigns?
