So, the interview process started off okay. First, I had a Zoom interview with two people from the department. After that, I had an in-person interview on campus with the director. I sent thank you emails after both interviews and got replies. The following week, I asked for an update and was told they were still interviewing people but would get back to everyone soon. Then, I never heard back from them. I followed up three times and still got no response. I found the whole thing to be really unprofessional.

The department chair reached out about the Admin Assistant 11 position, and after confirming my interest, an interview was scheduled about a week later. I then interviewed with the Department Chair, two other admin assistants, and a staff employee. After some questions, they asked if I had any questions for them. The next steps involve a three-part assessment for Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, along with a typing test and submitting references. I'm still waiting to hear about a decision.

Behavioral Presentation

After applying, I got an email to set up a phone interview. It was about 20-25 minutes and pretty standard, not too hard. A few days later, I got a call for an in-person interview on campus. This part was messy; I didn't get a schedule and missed meeting the Dean because no one told me where or when. The classroom demo was for students forced to attend for the summer, and they were not happy. I spent a lot of time just waiting around because the interview committee was disorganized. Everyone was friendly, but it was a 4-hour interview and they said they'd let me know either way, then I never heard back, which was really rude and unprofessional. I suspect they already had someone in mind for the job, and the interview was just for show.

It was a two-part interview, pretty straightforward. The first part was a panel interview, and the second was with the hiring manager and director. Some roles, like admin positions, do have a clerical test. I'm not writing any more.
