First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bowhead Family of Companies.
Intelligence Analyst
The interview was pretty easy. Just one round of talking with the program manager after an initial screening. They weren't trying to trick me, just wanted to see if I knew my stuff for the job.
- Can you tell me about your experience in this area?
Statistician
First, there's a phone interview, like a standard meet and greet. They want to hear about your qualifications. I actually had a few phone interviews, and the questions weren't just definitions like some Statistician interviews. If you get an on-site, you'll be at the location of your contract. I met with Bowhead managers first, they prepped me for the client interview and gauged my fit. Then, I met the clients. Their interview focuses on your expertise. The interviews were chill, managers tried to ease my nerves before meeting clients and told me what to expect.
- Can you discuss projects you have worked on?
Systems Administrator
This was one of the worst interviews I've had. Given Bowhead's size, I expected more. The hiring manager spent the first 10 minutes talking about the company and all its roles, which was boring. A technical person was on the call and was nice, but the questions were all yes/no. They didn't ask about me or my goals, and didn't try to get to know me. I asked some motivational questions, but got typical, bland answers. I told my recruiter to pass on this one. Managers need better interviewing training and to understand why they're managers. More open-ended questions would have been better than just technical ones.
- Have you heard of or about ____ (input technology)?
Call Center Technician
I was supposed to have an interview, but they never showed up and didn't pick up my calls. I waited for them for an hour, and even tried calling their direct line, but they ignored me. My emails also went unanswered. It would've been nice if they could have at least let me know they were canceling. Super unprofessional.
