Benefits Intern
The interview was pretty straightforward, focusing mainly on my background and schooling. They avoided standard behavioral questions like 'greatest weakness'. The whole process was also quite quick.
- Can you give me an overview of your resume?
Outreach Specialist
I've applied and interviewed twice here on two separate occasions and both times I have been ghosted. I went pretty deep into the hiring process both times and each time they've decided to suddenly stop keeping in touch. I've interviewed, submitted documentation, gave them references, received my schedule and both times they just stopped out of the blue. They suddenly stopped responding to my emails and phone calls out of nowhere. At the very least give me a rejection letter or phone call so I know where I stand. You don't just stop and ghost someone after going back and forth for weeks!
- Tell me about your experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges.
Human Resources Specialist
I applied for the position and got a call back the next day. The recruiting coordinator set up my interview with Jackie. When I got there, I was given a test that included basic math, an essay, and literature questions. I then met with Jackie, who scheduled me for a second interview with Debi Alpert, the Deputy Director of HR. That interview also went well. She then asked me to get an evaluation done for my Degree and High School Diploma, which I thought was a good sign since it cost $130. About two weeks later, the recruiting coordinator mentioned she was having trouble reaching one of my past employers for references. I sent her more info, and after a 'thanks' reply, I heard nothing. I tried calling them, but no one answered, which I found very unprofessional given my 10 years as an HR Professional. I felt they could have contacted me, just like they did for the interview, to let me know if I got the job instead of being unresponsive. The position is now open again.
- Can you share your experience?
- What is your biggest pet peeve in a professional setting?
- What makes you look for a job outside of your current one?
Community Technician
Applied and heard back about a month later for a quick phone interview. Then there was an in-person interview with an HR person on the 12th floor. Later on, I had an interview with the Assistant Director of the program which was super thorough and intense. The whole hiring process can take 2-3 months because BRC does a deep dive on references and everything on your resume. Their HR is kinda slow.
