Boulevard Product Manager Interview Questions
& Process

I was talking to a few different companies as part of my most recent job search and from a candidate, experience Boulevard was the best. Bobby was in constant communication with me and was very transparent every step of the way. I very much got the impression that they wanted to both find a great candidate for the role as well as make sure I had a great experience. He very much took the time to give me as much context as possible ahead of each step and set very clear expectations. Scheduling interviews happened quickly and everyone that I talked to during the process was great. I ended up accepting a role at Boulevard, but even if I hadn't been offered one I would have recommended others apply because the candidate experience was so phenomenal.

I talked with the head of product, a designer, an engineer, a lead product manager, the head of product again, and then met with the VP of finance. It was a really thorough but warm & human process. I felt challenged in the right ways as a product manager without any unnecessary or frivolous "hypothetical scenarios" that most companies put you through. All the questions and "How would you handle..." situational exercises felt relevant and fruitful. I really enjoyed my interview process with Boulevard and considered it in my final round of job searching, and only declined because I got an offer at a different company where I aligned more with their mission.

I applied through Angel and was quickly contacted by Bobby, the recruiting manager. Our first screening call covered the usual company and role background, my experience, and process expectations. Then, I had a call with the hiring manager to discuss my work experience and product management approach, and I also learned about how Product is run at Boulevard. Next, I had interviews with team members over 2 days, with 3-4 back-to-back sessions each day. I spoke with managers and senior folks in engineering, product marketing, design, program management, and product management. Bobby checked in after each day to see how I was doing, which was really considerate. I asked to speak with an engineering manager, and Bobby arranged that even though it wasn't standard. Finally, I had a session with the hiring manager for scenario-based product exercises, where I talked through my thought process in each scenario. My last interview was with the CEO, who has a product background, where we discussed my product management approach and company vision. Bobby also called after every interview with immediate feedback, which was super helpful. There was a bit of confusion when they mentioned a take-home assignment that wasn't ready, but they quickly realized it wasn't necessary and apologized. Bobby's focus on the candidate experience really made this the best interview process I've had.
