First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boulay.
Audit Associate
This was a really great interview experience. First, I had a call with the hiring rep. After that, I was scheduled to talk with people from the audit team, including some with lots of experience. I especially liked the chat with an associate where I could just casually ask questions about the role and their work environment, which made me feel more comfortable.
- What makes you want to work in audit instead of other areas?
Retirement Plan Administration Consultant
In the spring of 2023, I went through three interviews but didn't get the job. I suspect they were looking for someone less expensive and with more ESOP experience. I wasn't given an official reason why I didn't get the job.
- Tell me about your typical interview questions and general things about job functions and situations.
- We're really trying to determine if your personality will fit in with our culture, aka I got a discriminatory vibe from some of the ladies.
- Talent recruiter was very friendly and communicative, though.
Software Engineer
I started with a recruiter chat, then had a technical interview. It was pretty chill, like a conversation. They asked about new tech, past experiences, and my school stuff. That was it, then they told me if I got the offer.
- How do you stay current with technology?
- What technologies have you been keeping up with lately?
- Can you tell me about your coursework?
Business Intelligence Analyst
The interview process involved a phone screening and then an in-person interview, which unfortunately was a really negative experience. The phone part was okay, but the in-person one was awful. It felt like they were interrogating me, maybe to see if I'd crack under pressure, but it just made me feel unwelcome and intimidated. The interviewers were super cold and unfriendly. Honestly, even if I got the job, I wouldn't want to work there with those people as my colleagues. I don't mind tough questions or being challenged, I actually expect that. But there's no need to be so cold and uninterested about it.
- Questions about your technical skills and background were asked.
- We asked about your background.
- We discussed your working style.
