First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boston University.
Assistant Director
The interview process had three rounds. There was no work sample. It started with a screen, then a panel interview, and finally a hiring manager interview. The interviewers were friendly and the questions were balanced and not too difficult. I really liked the communication between interviews. I was kept updated after each round, and this clear communication made me want the role a lot more.
- What is your preferred communication style?
Director
The interview was conversational rather than formal. It started with some questions about my background and interests, then moved to why I’m interested in Boston University and my chosen field of study. After that, we discussed my academic experiences and goals, as well as how I could contribute to the BU community. Finally, I had the chance to ask questions about BU. Overall, it felt more like a two-way conversation than a test.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Assistant Director
I went through three interviews for the Assistant Director role. All the interviews were pretty good and they asked questions that were relevant to my background. But in the last interview, one of the interviewers seemed really hung up on the fact that I would have to relocate for the job. Even though I told them I was totally fine with moving, they seemed to think it was a big problem that I wasn't already living nearby.
