English Teacher
They asked some basic questions, nothing too difficult. It was about how I'd make sure students did well on tests and how I'd use culturally relevant teaching. They also asked about how I'd work with the students I'd be teaching.
- How do you track student goal achievement?
Teacher
You start by applying through the main office, then there's a separate process for each new school you join. For experienced teachers moving schools, it involves an online application, an interview with administrators and teachers, and a prepared sample lesson.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What is your philosophy on teaching?
Teacher
There's a pre-screener interview that happens 6 months before the hiring season starts. It's meant to speed things up for applications and interviews in the spring. The interviews are usually pretty quick and don't really tell you much about the actual day-to-day tasks or how many students you'll have. They really want you to ask questions, so have a few ready before you meet.
- Can you describe your approach to managing classroom behaviors?
