First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boston Proper.
Assistant Merchant
I got a quick call back, but the process took a while and involved several people in a single round. It lasted about two hours in total, with three different interviewers. They were all really nice and helpful.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience?
HR Coordinator
About a month after applying, I got a text from the HR director, and we set up a phone interview. After passing that, I had an in-person interview with the CFO, CEO, and the HR Director, one after another. It felt like a bit of a sorority vibe, which is fine, just not for me. Then I had a final phone interview with the HR Generalist who is remote. I thought I'd hear back by the end of the week, but I got a rejection email about 3 weeks later. I was kind of expecting it since I didn't feel like a cultural fit during the in-person.
- Can you go over each job on your resume?
- What HR specialty would you choose?
Technical Designer
First, a recruiter from Adecco Creative reached out. I then submitted a work sample that fit the client's needs. Next, I had a 30-minute phone interview with the recruiter. Following that, I had a one-hour phone interview with the Director of Technical Design. The final step was an onsite interview which included a skills assessment test. This test involved creating specs, revising fit, and patterns for a dress, denim pants, a jacket, a C&S knit top, and a sweater.
- Can you talk about your experience with technical design specifically for womenswear?
Marketing
They had me come right in for an in-person interview. I presented several concepts for growing their customer base, and we spent over two and a half hours discussing their products, apparel lines, and strategies for attracting new customers using inbound marketing approaches they hadn't considered. After that, I didn't hear anything back, not even a response to my thank-you notes and follow-ups. It seems like they just take your ideas and then abandon you. Avoid this place.
- What are your ideas for enhancing our current customer acquisition?
- What are your thoughts on our no-return policy?
