First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boston Harbor Hotel.
Bartender
You'll meet with the F&B director and just answer whatever simple questions they ask. It's usually not too tough 'cause you probably know someone already working at the hotel.
- Can you name three white wines that you would suggest to a customer?
Server
It was a pleasant interview. The management were lovely and answered all my questions politely, which made me feel at ease. They asked me about myself, my experience, my knowledge on wines, and my favourite dish. They offered me the job and gave me information about the role during the interview, and I had the chance to ask them questions.
- Could you please tell us about yourself and your past experiences?
- What is your experience or knowledge regarding wines?
- Which dish is your favorite?
Restaurant Server
Interviewed with HR and then the restaurant manager. Questions were easy, they just went through your resume and asked about your previous customer service and if you have any serving experience. You'll pretty much get the offer on the spot as they will tell you where to go for the drug test.
- What is your availability for working hours?
Captain
I first chatted with HR about the job and my background. Then I met the director of rooms, a really great person, and they asked me similar questions. It was a fast process. I got called back the next week to interview with the front office manager, and they made me an offer.
- Can you tell me about a time you faced a difficult situation in a role and how you resolved it?
