& Process

It was pretty straightforward. A woman led me to a back room and we sat at a small table. We talked a bit about my school, then she asked about my past job, focusing on sales and performance metrics, like if I was the top performer in my store. She also asked typical retail questions, such as how I'd handle an upset customer or who my favorite boss was and why. There was a whiteboard nearby showing employee sales figures. After the interview, I was contacted quickly and informed that I couldn't be hired because I was under 18. However, she did mention that if I were 18, I would have proceeded to the next interview round with the store manager.

Applied in the store. Got a call from the store manager to set up an interview with the lead. Had a simple interview with questions about how I overcame objections. Was given a script to memorize and recite during the next interview. The second interview was with the Assistant Store Manager. They asked more questions about how I would interact with customers. Had to recite the script. The third interview was with the Store Manager. It was a really detailed interview that asked how I work in a team and obtain goals. Recited the script again for accuracy.

I applied online and got a call about an hour later to set up an interview. Then I was taken into the presentation room with two managers. The managers were professional and friendly. The interview lasted about 45 minutes and they said they had more interviews to do this week, and they would call me next week to set up another interview.
