First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Born & Bread Bakehouse.
Production Baker
The interview for the Production Baker role mainly focused on my availability, and they asked me what year I graduated high school (which is basically asking my age, totally illegal!) and if I had kids (also illegal).
- What year did you graduate high school?
Baker Assistant
Came in for an interview with normal questions and a follow up working interview. The staff was friendly and the day was busy. I've enjoyed it all so far. There are different teams working on specific tasks.
- Are you okay with early mornings?
Team Member
Interesting…she stares into your soul but you’ll get hired because they need workers. She asked questions I later found out were illegal though, or rather, forgot they were illegal because I’ve never been asked them during an interview…
- Do you have kids? If so, what are their schedules?
- When did you graduate high school?
Baking Assistant
I had an in-person meeting with the owner. After that, I did a working/staging interview. It was on a Saturday/Wednesday during a busy day. They compensated me for my time, and it was strenuous work.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
