Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Booking.com.
Localization Specialist
Had a screening call (phone interview). Then, there was an online test to assess localization skills, which I had about an hour to complete. Lastly, I had an online interview with my regional manager, direct manager, and a teammate.
- Would you describe yourself as more of a team player or a solo player?
- Describe your approach to handling conflicts.
- What would you consider to be your strengths and weaknesses?
Contingent Workforce Specialist
The interview process was pretty straightforward with 3 rounds. They talked a lot about the structure, what they were looking for, and especially how I would fit with the company culture. All my interviews were at the manager level. No tests were required, unless it was for a tech role.
- Could you share a situation where you used data to guide your decision-making?
CRM Specialist
The whole thing was awful, seriously, just avoid it. It dragged on for over two and a half months, which was a nasty surprise. To make matters worse, the recruiter totally ghosted me three times. Then, my main recruiter bailed and nobody bothered to update me on what was happening next. In the end, they didn't even give me any useful feedback. One interviewer didn't even know how A/B tests are supposed to work and questioned my approach. When I explained it, even with her colleague backing me up, she used it against me. They want you to use real data for your answers, but they never actually share any, and then they dismiss your answers as 'hypothetical'. Honestly, the whole hiring process at Booking.com felt really unprofessional and disorganized – recruiters disappearing, long waits with no updates, and then just vague feedback. Seriously, for your own sanity, don't apply here, there are way better places to work.
