Jobs In One
I applied online on a whim because I have no experience scheduling, but I figured I could learn it quickly with training. The HR person called me two days later - on a Saturday morning around 8 am, and emailed me. They called again Saturday evening, and then again on Monday. We finally connected Monday morning for a quick phone screen and they set up an interview for the very next day. I was told to bring three references. Normally, references are requested during job fairs, so I decided not to bother anyone until it was really necessary, especially if they might get called at 8 am on a Saturday. I went to the interview and met the Plant Manager, the HR rep, and the Logistics Manager. They had already hired someone for the LM's old job, so this role would report to someone who hadn't started yet. That struck me as odd. I was interviewing with people I wouldn't report to, and they couldn't wait a week for the supervisor to start so they could be involved in the hiring? The interview was 45 minutes. The plant manager seemed really hung up on my lack of scheduling experience (the job also involved purchasing and tracking shipments), and I could tell it bothered him. I have a technical post-secondary education and a lot of manufacturing experience, but I got the vibe that training wouldn't be provided; it was more of a 'jump in and figure it out' situation. He started texting during the interview, which made it clear it was a lost cause. The HR rep mentioned they were also interviewing internally. I suspect I was just there to make the numbers look good. I wasn't asked for my references, which was another sign I was out before they officially told me. Companies need to understand that interviewees are also assessing the situation and forming opinions about the company culture. Texting during interviews and weekend calls are unprofessional and not appreciated; it makes the company look like slave drivers who don't care about work-life balance. That's not a good impression to give potential employees. The only positive was the HR person's responsiveness (maybe because of those 6-day work weeks?), as I got my rejection call on a Saturday too.
- What considerations do you take into account when scheduling a run?
Commercial Director
An extremely professional process: met with HR, then the French Commercial Director, and finally the CEO. Things moved quickly from the start of the process to the debrief, and the discussions were practical and straightforward. Bonduelle's values are very evident in the interviews, with a CSR approach deeply embedded in the leaders' decision-making.
- Tell me about your values and your approach to managing people.
- How do you adapt your management style for different teams?
- Can you walk me through a business scenario?
Production Assistant Manager
First, I had to apply on the Bonduelle website. Then, the person who would supervise my internship contacted me directly. We scheduled a video interview. The interview lasted about 45 minutes, it was more of a discussion (my background, the plant's history, the detailed missions, the team's needs...). Then, there were classic interview questions like qualities and flaws.
- What are your qualities? Give 3.
- What are your flaws? Give 3.
Marketing Intern
I had one interview with HR and the team manager where they proposed the role. They were very clear in explaining what they do and how the role is structured. They asked me some questions about myself. A week later, I received the outcome of my application via email.
- Tell me about yourself.
- What makes you interested in this role?
- What value do you bring to the company?
