First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bond Vet.
Marketing Associate
I had a quick chat with HR, then did a project for the interview, and then interviewed with the head of marketing. Upper management has favorites, and I found out on Slack that I didn't get the job, while other people got proper emails. The whole thing felt really unorganized and passive.
- Tell me about a challenge you faced when coordinating a previous event.
Registered Veterinary Technician
Had an initial chat with a recruiter, then a long call with Bond employees about my background. After that, I had two video calls on conference: one with the nursing director and another with a different department head.
- Could you discuss nursing questions regarding anesthesia methods?
- What about anesthetic drug calculations?
Veterinary Technician
The interview process was the worst of my career. I had to confirm our interview, and I was initially told a female recruiter would conduct it, but then the interviewer himself was doing it. I got a strange vibe from the start. No phone number was given, so I didn't know who to look for. The interviewer had his headset on, and there was so much background noise I could barely hear him. He asked odd questions and seemed disinterested. He gave me a pop quiz, and I could barely hear him when he told me I forgot to mention changing to a Doppler for the blood pressure question. It seemed like he was trying to make me make a mistake. He then said I'd need to visit all locations and spend hours in hospitals. He took two weeks to get back to me and then apologized, saying he wasn't offering me the position. My subsequent interviews were normal. With over 25 years in this industry, I've never experienced such rudeness. I'm not upset about not getting the job, as I have a great position. However, this person shouldn't be in recruiting. Bond seems like a company with a bright future, and they should examine their interview process.
- What steps would you take to address a drop in a Yorkie's blood pressure during surgery?
- If a Yorkie's BP dropped during surgery, how would you handle it?
Director of Operations
I only went through the initial recruiter screening for this role, but the process was very 'human' compared to other early interviews I've gone through. The recruiter's communication was personal & clear and they followed through on the timeframes they provided, down to the day. As a candidate, getting the personal email declining further interviews is so much better than being kept in the dark. The process reflected well on the company.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- Could you highlight specific experiences in key areas of responsibility?
