The interview process felt similar to others I've seen. After a take-home test, I was ghosted for many months. They reached out again much later to invite me for an onsite presentation, but by that time I had already moved on. I think the company should be upfront about not actively hiring and instead building a candidate pool for future needs. This would be fairer, as take-home tests require significant effort from busy professionals. Based on my experience, the company seems to expect preparation for various questions that might appear at any stage, even if told otherwise.

My interview experience with Bolt was pretty disappointing and felt like a mess. I was set up for an interview for a Product Manager role, but when I got into the actual interview, the recruiter told me the position was already filled. They hadn't told me this before, which made me wonder why I was even there. They still went through with the chat, saying there might be openings for other roles they didn't specify. The whole thing felt really unclear and without any real purpose or plan. It seemed like they just wanted to tick a box rather than actually try to hire someone. A few days later, I got a standard rejection email saying I wasn't a good fit for the role, though it was never clear which role they meant. All in all, it felt unprofessional and was a frustrating experience. I think Bolt needs to get better at making sure recruiters respect candidates' time and are upfront with them. This kind of disorganized or misleading interview process just makes candidates lose trust and have a bad experience.
