We had a 20-minute online interview. It was a relaxed chat with direct questions about your interest in the position, your research background and what you're researching now, your approach to teaching, how you've supervised students, and if you've gotten grants before.

It was pretty straightforward and easy. I prepared 30 minutes before and got the job. They asked about 5 questions and they were all pretty much behavioral. There were 5 people from the treasury department on the zoom call. There was only one round.

I had a Zoom interview with 3 people from the department. There was no initial phone screening. It was one of the weirdest interviews I've had in over 20 years. The job listing was very different from what they told me, like a different title and different priorities. When I asked about a priority from the listing, they said it wasn't part of the job at all. Maybe HR messed up? The questions were pretty standard, but I didn't really engage because I wanted it to end quickly. It would probably be easy for someone who actually wants the job. heads up: they mentioned early on that they expect you to work late a lot (basically expecting unpaid labor).

I got contacted for a phone interview about a week after the job closed. It was about 30 minutes and they asked general questions about my teaching experience and why I'm interested in the role. It went well. A week later, I got an email for an on-campus interview. This included a lab skills and knowledge exam, a 20-minute white board presentation on one of four topics, and a behavioral screening. The next week, I had the interview. It was professional, with three interviewers, and started on time. The exam was standard, and my presentation went well because I was prepared. The four behavioral questions asked for personal experiences. I had time for questions afterward. The whole thing was just under 2 hours. I got a call with an offer the following week.
