First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boise School District.
Special Education Teacher
The head of Special Education was really nice and easy to talk to. The interview was about an hour long and we talked about my past jobs, skills, and some situations.
- Can you discuss classroom management?
- What's your experience with the IEP process?
- How would you approach these scenarios?
Educator
The interviewers were respectful and professional. It appears that having a personal connection within the location you're applying to is crucial for consideration. A connection within the district would be very beneficial.
- Do you have any questions regarding the school district, the specific building, or the role itself?
Custodian
You'll have 1 interview, sometimes 2, then they'll make an offer, do a fingerprint background check, and take your picture for an ID badge. After that, there are 2 full 8hr days of paid training and then 1 full 8hr day of on-the-job training at a school you pick. The person interviewing you is a really nice, understanding, and helpful military vet.
- What kind of experience do you have using custodial equipment like carpet cleaners, vacuums, floor waxers, or snow equipment?
- Can you describe your cleaning experience?
- Tell me about a difficult situation you faced and how you resolved it.
Teaching Assistant
I met with the school principal, who was really supportive. I got to ask them questions about the school and learned a lot about the job from them. The principal seemed interested in what I could bring to the school with my expertise.
- Can you tell me about your experience in a school setting and for how long?
