& Process

I went through four rounds of interviews for their Marketing Director position. I had heard some concerning things about their company culture and employee treatment, which made me approach the process with caution but also curiosity. I was aware that they had experienced significant turnover in leadership, with about five General Managers in six years. My initial concerns were confirmed when I received an automated, form rejection email from a do-not-respond address, which was bizarrely addressed to someone else. Unfortunately, I couldn't even inform them of the error due to the email's origin. It was disappointing to realize that after investing approximately five hours of my time in interviews, my local co-op couldn't spare 15 seconds for a personalized rejection email, especially considering it was likely down to a small number of candidates at that stage. This extreme lack of professionalism has even made me reconsider my patronage.

It was a quick and informal chat with two people. I talked about how I fit the job requirements and had lots of experience. I mentioned I worked there 35 years ago and did everything back then. They told me I got the job before I even left the parking lot. This is a very part-time job, only 6 hours a month.

The interview process was really nice. After applying online, I received a call for a phone interview about two days later. Following that, I met the Store Manager and the Produce Manager at the store. We talked about my past experience in grocery stores and my preferences from previous jobs. A big part of the conversation was about how I'd handle specific situations and what I found challenging at work.

I said I was there for my interview. The staff found the manager, and we went to another building for the interview. The storage manager joined us too. It was very relaxed and friendly.
