First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boise Cascade.
Operations Manager
I sent in my resume online and heard back a week later from the General Manager who wanted to do an in-person interview. After passing that, I had to complete an online Caliper Assessment at home, and then they made their decision. The whole thing usually takes about two to three weeks, but it was over the holidays, so it might have taken a bit longer than usual. The GM gave me a pretty accurate timeline, but they didn't follow up with the final communication they promised, even though they said they would let me know either way about a job offer. Overall, it was a good experience.

HR Department Position
A recruiter contacted me and set up a video pre-screening. If I passed that, I had an in-person panel interview at their corporate office. During the panel, a group of people asked questions one after another. They gave more details about the job and let me ask questions too. It felt pretty relaxed.

- Describe your preferred method of learning.
- Tell me about a time you improved a process or system.
Corporate Recruiter
I went through 3 rounds of interviews. First was a phone interview, second and third were formal face to face interviews. They use a Targeted Selection / Behavioral Interviewing technique. Good way to be able to relate your accomplishments to what they need. Everyone was very professional and they try to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
- Tell me about a time you had a disagreement with your boss and how it was resolved.
- What past experiences do you have that you can apply to this role?
Data Integration Engineer
I went through a long interview process with no communication at all. They said to email them with questions, but I was ignored by two different people. After about two weeks, I got an automated rejection email late at night. They also said to ask for feedback if I didn't get the job, and I've been waiting two more weeks for that. This was a super frustrating experience.
- Can you explain what a pointer is in the context of data?
