First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bob Evans Restaurants.
Assistant Manager
You get observed by a General Manager during a shift. You're expected to walk around, assist where needed, and chat with guests. If the GM is happy with your performance, you'll have an interview with another GM. This is about 30 minutes of general questions to see if you're a good personality fit. Finally, there's a third interview with the Area Director, who asks more in-depth questions, including situational ones and queries about your future plans.
- Can you tell me about a difficult situation you experienced with a customer or a coworker and how you resolved it?
- Where do you see yourself professionally in the next five years?
- What are your career aspirations for the next decade?
Assistant Manager
Interviewing for management was a two step process. First with the corporate regional talent recruiter, and if you passed that, then with the district manager. If hired, you will begin a 14 week paid training program at a certified training store and finish the last week at the corporate office. The corporate office visit will involve getting certified for ServSafe, Operations management, and touring the Bob Evans Farm at Rio Grande.
- What makes you want to work for Bob Evans?
- Can you share one of your strengths and one of your weaknesses?
- How do you deal with stress and stressful situations?
