I came in for an interview and to do 2 practical haircuts. One was a clipper cut on the sides with scissors on top, the second was a full haircut. The hiring manager and assistant manager both interviewed me and were very friendly.

It was a simple, good, short interview. They looked for good, long-lasting condition of the house and good condition in the house for the first few months and the last couple months. I was in the middle and then the second week of September. I had a couple months off so I'm just gonna have a little time off to do that.

I interviewed for a Hair Stylist position. First, I met with the manager who talked about the salon's atmosphere, saying the employees are like family and that the clients are high-end, like doctors, lawyers, and CEOs, emphasizing client priority. Then, I had an online test which inaccurately described me as "unreliable" and "uncooperative," which I found surprising given the current demand for stylists. The second interview involved a practical test of two haircuts. I arrived at 12:30 PM, but the corporate office wouldn't allow the salon to open the appointment books for me, a process they'd followed for two years previously. Instead, I had to wait for clients to come in, making the practical interview extend from about an hour to three and a half hours. During the first haircut, my clippers unplugged twice, and my blow dryer kept shorting out, requiring me to stop multiple times. The second cut went fine. Finally, I had a third interview with the area manager who asked standard questions but told me three times they would "circle back," and I never heard from them again. They didn't even bother to call or send a letter to decline my application.
