First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Boar's Head.
Business Manager
The interview process was easy and great. It had multiple steps, but they were all easy to navigate. The people were great, very down-to-earth, and the atmosphere was normal pressure. I would highly recommend them for future employment, even though I didn't take the position.
- What about your skills and experience makes you believe you'd be a good fit for this company?
Software Engineer
Super organized interview, with good and tricky questions. The panel was nice and the questions were up-to-date. Nice environment, very nice company with a good work culture. They help employees and the team is supportive. Team bonding is really good with quarterly planned outings and team bonding activities. They also have quarterly performance reviews.
- Can you explain Agile methodology?
- What is your experience with Jenkins?
- What are your thoughts on OOPS concepts?
Operations Leadership Trainee
I found this role on my university's job board and applied. A corporate HR person emailed me back the same day and we scheduled a phone interview for a few days later. It went great; she was really nice and easy to talk to. The next day, I heard back and they wanted a second interview, which would also be a phone interview, this time with an HR person from the specific location. That happened about four days after that. I'm guessing the next step would have been flying out for an in-person interview. But, the second interviewer was super rude and impatient. He seemed like he just wanted to get it over with and only cared about asking his questions so he could hang up. He'd ask something and then cut me off before I could even start answering to ask something else. I never got to explain anything. And these weren't easy questions either. It was really off-putting. Worst interview experience ever.
- Can you tell me what you know about the state where this facility is located?
- Have you ever worked with injecting and brining meat?
- Have you ever been in a role where you directly supervised employees?
Food Scientist
I got this job through campus recruiting. I sent them an email and they replied really fast. They were super interested in my resume and we set up a phone interview for two days later. I did a ton of research online and prepped for it. They called right on time, saying my resume was impressive. But then they asked if I was a green card holder or US citizen. I said no, and they told me they were a local business and couldn't hire international folks. They said they had tons of phone interviews that day and wished me luck.
- Are you a green card holder or a US citizen?
