Behavioral Presentation Group

It started with a telephone interview that felt more like a casual chat. Then there was a group online interview with about 24 people, but the interviewers were late. We only got 30 seconds to pitch our knowledge and experience. There were two individual tasks: a 30-second sales pitch about ourselves and a random 30-second pitch about something interesting we had a minute to prepare for. The group tasks were brief and seemed to favor the more dominant candidates who spoke the loudest. Overall, it was a pretty underwhelming and disappointing experience. I know it might sound like I'm bitter, but some candidates showed up in hoodies looking like they just woke up and they still got through the first stage. There wasn't much opportunity to showcase our skills, and honestly, it felt a bit unfair to put us all (mostly women, I might add) in a breakout room, only to turn on our cameras and essentially tell us we weren't good enough, despite being told earlier that no experience was necessary and there were no wrong answers. It felt impersonal, and my degree in a creative field seemed to be a disadvantage compared to candidates with extensive industry experience.

Behavioral Presentation Group Case

After applying, I got a call to discuss my CV and availability for an assessment centre. I got more calls with details about the day, confirming my spot and telling me what to prepare. Others had good calls too, but some got different info. On the day, about 40 of us met. We got name tags and Sita explained the day. Reps from 9 companies were there. We did introductions: name, education, job, biggest non-academic achievement. We split into groups for activities led by supervisors. First, we figured out a company's values and made a 30-day sales plan for an elevating desk using provided info. It was informal, timed, with feedback. The company reps watched. Then, we did elevator pitches on why we should be chosen as a salesperson, with 2 mins prep. Another group task was picking the 6 most important questions for a meeting to sell the desk. All info was given. We were told to read everything, listen, and speak respectfully. After a break, about a third of us were cut. We then had 20 mins to prep a sales roleplay to sell the desk. We were told exactly what to do. The roleplays were one-on-one and short. Afterwards, people met clients about offers or rejections. Listen and take notes.

The rest of the descriptions of the process below are accurate. It started with an introduction where you talk about yourself, your education, and an interesting fact. Then there were group tasks where you had to decide on a product's key features and how to market it. After that, you had to give a personal sales pitch about why they should consider you for the roles. We then had lunch, and unfortunately, some people were cut off. Next, we had to prepare a sales/negotiation pitch with one of the staff members. Finally, there was a one-on-one interview. I 'passed' the assessment and had the interview at the end. I never heard back after the day, so I wouldn't recommend wasting your time.
