Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BMS Performance.
Sales Executive
The interview process was time consuming and chaotic. You're invited to a Teams call with over 40 people. Everyone introduces themselves and their work alphabetically. Then, there are icebreaker rooms with tasks. It seems like the recruitment team is new and unsure, leading candidates to scramble for a role with just basic salary. You're then informed if you've advanced to the next interview stage. It's not worth the hassle, especially when I currently have a good wage with more benefits, and I was only considering a change for a more challenging role if it felt right and had development opportunities. I would not apply through this recruitment again.
- Give a 30-second pitch on your suitability for this role and your motivations.
- Why do you think you're a good fit for this position and what's your reasoning?
Business Development Executive
I really liked the BMS interview process. It was interesting and well-organized, and I got a good sense of the role and the company culture. The people were very helpful.
- How do you think you would be a good fit for this role?
Sales Executive
I went for an interview feeling confident and ready to impress. The process began with filling out some information and taking a selfie on an iPad. Then, I went into the interview room. The interviewer started by asking where I was from in the UK, and then pressed further, asking 'where are you actually from?' After I clarified I'm from Kenya, he asked about my current and first job, laughing at my first job at Crocs. He then asked me to tell him about myself, followed by questions about when I left school and my age. When asked if I had questions, I inquired about the training provided. Finally, when I asked 'so what now?', clarifying he meant the interview, I expressed my hope to gain experience and skills. He then advised me to stick to my current job, stating he'd been doing this for years and recommended against this type of role. The interview lasted at least an hour and a half, which felt like a waste given the outcome.
- Tell me about your ability to ask good questions and listen effectively.
- Can you describe your resilience and tenacity?
- How do you approach delivering outcomes?
