First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BMO Financial Group.
Credit Analyst
It was a conversational interview, and they wanted to see if I was interested in credit and BMO. It helps to know the 5 C's of credit to show you're invested in the opportunity. You should know your strengths, weaknesses, and have other behavioral stories ready. Be sure to ask about the role and most importantly, seem curious about what your day-to-day looks like.
- What are your three biggest weaknesses?
Credit Analyst
Recruiter called me back about some clarifying questions, but it was actually an interview. She was rude and seemed to be interviewing me throughout the 45-minute call. She asked me what is important to me, and I said I want a good work-life balance. She said this was concerning and that she doesn’t want staff to be afraid to call me at 4:55 pm on a Friday. I should have recognized it was an interview earlier due to her tone, but that comment was a clear sign to run. She ghosted me afterward.
- What do you value most in a work environment?
Credit Analyst
I first had to do a hirevue. Then, I got invited to a Superday with 2 interviews, each with a managing director and an associate. The first interview was a case study, and the second one focused on behavioral questions.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in BMO?
- What attracts you to Commercial Banking?
- Do you have any questions for us?
