Intern
The interview process starts virtually and then moves to an in-person stage. While they prefer you to attend the in-person interview physically, attending online is also an option. The in-person interview takes place at the actual bank. A significant portion of the interview will involve questions based on your resume.
- What are your reasons for applying to BMO and this particular role?
Investment Banking Intern
The first round involved two interviews: one with basic BIWS questions like explaining a $10 depreciation and a stock pitch, and another covering the big three behavioral questions (Tell me about a time you failed, Why BMO, Why IB). The second round consisted of a resume deep dive and a paper DCF.
- Can you explain a $10 depreciation?
- Could you walk me through how to do a stock pitch?
- Tell me about a time you failed.
Analyst Intern
The interview had three people on the panel. The manager asked technical questions about key areas. The other interviewers asked resume-based questions about my past experiences, skills, and how I applied them. The questions were straightforward, and I could give detailed responses about my qualifications, project involvement, and technical expertise. It covered my technical abilities and professional background.
- Can you tell me about any SAS experience you have outside of your academic studies?
