Digital Marketing Specialist
Got an email with two questions. One was a technical marketing question with some media math, and the other was kind of vague: Tell me about some adversity you've faced in your life and how you handled it? I did it, and they got back saying "Your answer was pretty vanilla." Usually, you're told to answer that professionally with an example from work or school, so I did. But apparently, they wanted a sob story and thought I was privileged. Total waste of time.
- How would you advise on a $300k/month Facebook ad spend goal with a 2.5x ROAS, given we're at $280k spend and a 2.8x ROAS with 7 days remaining in the month?
- Can you share an experience of adversity you've encountered and how you managed it?
Auditor
I went through a recruiter for the interview. It was a standard interview with basic questions, like asking about my 5-year career goals and a general overview of the position. I was expecting an Excel test because the role mostly involves Excel work, but there wasn't one. I'm not sure if it was the recruiter or the company, but I never got a response back, even though the job was supposed to start the following Monday and I interviewed on a Thursday.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
- Do you have strong Excel skills and a keen eye for detail?
Financial Analyst
First, there was a 15-minute Excel test to check basic skills. They had someone there to help if I didn't know how to do something. After that, I had an interview with someone who works there. He explained the role and what he was looking for. Then, the department head and the CEO evaluated me based on the Excel test and the interview. The CEO gave feedback that was really helpful for future interviews, which is unusual.
- What is your understanding of Barrington Media Group?
Analyst
The interview process involves an Excel test first, which is pretty basic. You'll need to know how to use filters, the UI, text to columns, remove duplicates, and vlookup. After that, there are two rounds of interviews. Be ready to share some situational stories.
- Could you introduce yourself?
