I got contacted on LinkedIn for a Solutions Engineer role at BMC Software in Ireland. Right off the bat, we talked salary and it was good, and the job seemed like a perfect fit. The whole thing had eight interviews, and I met basically everyone on the team. They were all super professional and made me feel really good about the company vibe. I was super excited and waiting for the offer. But then, when the offer finally landed, it was €15,000 less than what we agreed on initially. They said Ireland was too pricey compared to other places in Europe, so they ghosted the offer for Ireland and decided to hire in Spain instead to save cash. It felt like they hadn't done any homework on the market or even talked to each other before posting the job. The team was great, but how the higher-ups handled this whole mess was a total letdown and super unprofessional – a huge waste of my time and theirs, pulling an offer based on stuff they should have known from the jump.

The interview process was a 1:1 executive sales manager interview, followed by an interview with their manager. They checked my knowledge and skills. It wasn't very structured, and then they suddenly sent an offer letter without any communication for a month, which was surprising :).

So I went through a 4 round interview process for a Solutions Engineering role and got a verbal offer 3 weeks ago. We negotiated and they came back with a higher number I liked, but said it would take a week for approval and the written offer. After waiting a week, the recruiter told me she thought I wouldn't accept the offer, which wasn't true, so she paused the process. Now I'm being ghosted, which is really disappointing after putting in all that work.
