Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BMC Software.
Senior Project Manager
It was about five rounds, starting with the Program Manager, then three Directors, and finally HR. They were looking for a 360-degree view to make sure everyone's feedback lined up.
- Can you describe a typical day in your role?
Project Manager
The interview process was somewhat lengthy. Three people interviewed me and asked general questions about my past experience. An offer was presented; I initially rejected it, but then they countered and I accepted. The first interview was with their recruiter.
- What are your salary expectations?
- How do you build relationships with customers?
Project Manager
I had three interviews on video with different people, but surprisingly, none of them were the hiring manager. It was kinda weird because most of the questions were pretty general and didn't really get into what the plan for the role was or how I could specifically contribute.
- How would you define success?
