This was a pretty straightforward hiring process, very much handled by people rather than automated tools. The corporate recruiter was on top of things, keeping me informed about the next steps and providing feedback quickly. It started with a phone chat, then moved to an in-person meeting where I spoke with three individuals, one of whom was an executive. Everyone I met was friendly and approachable, and the interviews felt relaxed, focusing on my past experiences, general approaches, and personal attributes.

I got into the interview process after attending a recruitment event in Sept 2022 at BMC's UK HQ. I was drawn to the company's open culture and the organizers' efforts to find new profiles. I was interviewed for a UK product manager role. The interview felt more like pub banter than a structured process, and unfortunately included xenophobic jokes about my nationality, which I found upsetting as I'm not a UK national. I received a negative response, which in a way, was a relief. I couldn't imagine working for such an organization, especially given their slow growth and old-fashioned management, despite potential efforts to change.
