Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BMC Software.
Business Development Representative
It was a 4-stage interview process, entirely remote. The questions were pretty standard. They wanted to get a feel for my personality and work ethic, and were upfront about the job's difficulties.
- Can you share an experience where you collaborated with others?
Business Development Representative
The interview process was very intense, taking up about 40 hours of my time over a week and a half, including the assignments and interviews. I made it to the final interview but was rejected via email a few days later. A week and a half after that, the recruiter offered me a more selective role in another department, which I accepted. They promised to follow up within two days but then ghosted me, despite my two follow-up emails. I would have accepted the initial rejection, but after being offered another position and then being ghosted, it was very unprofessional, especially since I had heard good things about the company. I liked everyone I met during the process and expected better.
- How do you handle sudden changes?
Business Development Representative
I had one of the worst experiences with BMC. The interview process was smooth and I was enjoying every bit of it. It took nearly 3 weeks and I had put my maximum effort into this. At the end, the whole team ghosted me. They gave me no feedback and was not replying back to any of my emails. I totally understand that everyone's busy and you should value other peoples time too. If you are not going ahead with my application, please do let me know the same rather than being very immature and not answering to any emails.
- Could you start by telling me a bit about yourself?
