Marketing
The interviewer scheduled time with me to interview for the position but as per usual with HR, she left little time to actually have a conversation. She felt very rushed and not very interested. When I say that she is unprofessional in her tone, what I mean is, she was clearly just trying to run through her questions as fast as possible to stay right on time for her 28 minute window and her vernacular was juvenile. She didn’t ask much about what I knew in terms of the company. She was more interested in being critical of my background. Also, a word to HR, when you tell someone you’ll get back to them, just be professional and send an email - not one that is a robo email please.
- Can you explain your background?
- What is your understanding of our company?
IT Security Administrator
I applied online on a Monday and got an email the next morning to set up a phone interview. The HR person called on Thursday, right on time, and we talked for about 15-20 mins. She asked general interview questions, like asking for an example of when I helped someone or had a conflict. The next day, I got an email to schedule an in-person interview. I got there a bit early and chatted with the receptionist. The HR person came out to get me and took me to the IT department. I met the head of IT operations for a few minutes. He asked me more technical questions and what I was looking for in the job. Then he introduced me to the head of IT support. We talked about my resume, my past jobs, and she told me about the company's culture. It was a really thorough and quick interview process.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a conflict and describe how you resolved it?
- Tell me about a situation where you assisted someone.
- Describe a time you experienced a conflict.
Payroll Specialist
The interviewer was very informative about the fast-paced environment and used payroll examples as visual aids to make sure there was no confusion about the extensive nature of the role. The interview went well with a constant flow of questions and answers from both sides. I was glad it was kept role-specific and didn't turn into the generic interview with the dreaded strengths and weakness questions. I spent about an hour speaking with the manager and one of the team executives.
- Regarding a fast-paced environment, how do you manage shifting priorities to complete your tasks?
Operations Analyst
It was a super friendly chat, and the technical questions they asked were really direct and spot-on. The interviewer highlighted the key skills for the role, which gave me a great sense of the job and what it entails. The interview lasted about 45 minutes, and the interviewer seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me better. Even though it was online, it felt really professional and they covered everything well. Overall, a great experience.
- Can you tell me about your experience analyzing supply chains?
