First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Blumont.
Engineer
The first interview was pretty standard with typical questions. When I asked about training, they said it's up to the project and the project has no budget for it. I then asked about career development, and they said the project is responsible but has a fixed structure and rules. They mentioned I couldn't advance my career if all positions were filled. They offered a second interview, which I declined.
- What is your motivation for joining Blumont?
Communications Associate
I applied online and first had a call screening with an HR recruiter. Then, a few days later, I was scheduled for an interview. It was set up as two interviews back-to-back, each with 2 supervisors. Right after the interviews, there was a 2-hour writing test. The whole thing took about 3.5 hours. After waiting for a few weeks, I got rejected. They said they picked someone with more development experience, even though the recruiter said that wouldn't be a problem during the initial screening.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Program Officer
So, a person I knew from a previous job referred me. After I applied, IRD took about six weeks to get back to me. The Director of the sector I'd be working in, along with someone who would be my colleague, interviewed me. They had both checked out my resume, and they were pretty clear about what they wanted. My advice would be to prep for some random technical questions, but also be ready to steer the conversation yourself.
- Can you discuss your experience with small grants programs?
- What technical aspects of small grants programs are you familiar with?
Finance Assistant
The hiring process was pretty smooth overall. Finding the location was easy. There were some standard questions and testing involved. The HR Manager was really helpful and did a good job coordinating everything. The timing worked out well for me. The interviewer was on time and started with some small talk to help me feel more comfortable. The overall vibe was nice.
