So the interview process for this role was a bit of a joke. It started with a call where they told me I needed to do an assignment. The assignment itself was quite involved, requiring me to build an entire automation testing suite. It wasn't hard, just really time-consuming. After that, I had a technical interview. They asked some solid questions about Selenium and Java, and threw in some puzzles too. I thought I nailed it, but the interviewer said they couldn't proceed because they needed someone who could start immediately. The kicker is, they knew this beforehand, even before I started the assignment. Total waste of my time and energy.

I had 3 rounds of technical interviews and one final HR discussion round. The first round was Problem Solving and other CS knowledge terms including Design Patterns. The second round was a System Design round. The third round was with the EM of game.tv and it mainly comprised of LLD and questions from other technologies on which I have worked. This round was going too fast, so fast that the interviewer moved on to the next question pretty quickly or counter-questioned my answer. I was afraid after the third round that I wouldn't be selected, but I got the offer from them.

I applied to BlueStacks via a consultancy and was happy to get shortlisted after being laid off due to Covid. The first step was a take-home assignment where I had to build a Discord Bot with Google search and persistence. I spent over 9 hours on it, ensuring it followed best practices and was scalable. After passing the assignment, I had a 2+ hour virtual interview via Skype. Despite having over a year of experience, the interviewer asked system design questions, which I answered well. They also inquired about my projects and responsibilities. The interview concluded with a problem-solving question where the interviewer seemed unprepared and struggled to explain it. I eventually understood the problem and provided an optimized solution quickly. Unfortunately, my internet connection dropped during the call, and the interviewer ended the session, noting they had my code. The next day, I was told my solution didn't align with my experience, and BlueStacks rejected my request for reconsideration, even after I improved the assignment code.

A third-party recruiter reached out to me about this job. The first interview was with the manager, who talked about a past client deal to help me understand the role, focusing on how it involves making sure games work with the software. This went well and made me feel good about my chances. But the second interview with the senior manager was a letdown. She seemed uninterested from the start for no reason and asked the same questions as the first interview, like she hadn't taken any notes. I was hoping for more technical questions about the job and how my skills fit. Even though I have T2 support experience in the industry, she mentioned they were only looking for T1 support, which didn't make sense since they expected people to learn the product on the job, and I said I was willing. I followed up after a few weeks about my application but never heard back from HR or the recruiter. Totally ghosted.
