The interview was friendly and thorough, covering practical industry tasks and specific role-related questions to check my skills. It was a pleasant and professional interview.

The interview process was pretty standard, but it went on for quite a while. It started with a phone screen and then moved into a thorough interview where I met with a bunch of team members. They ask tough questions, but they also keep things pretty relaxed.

I applied for a Formulation Scientist role in early Oct 2017 and got an HR email for a phone screening within a week. The pre-HM call with HR went fine. The role needed 5 years of experience, but I only had 3, though my skills matched the job description perfectly. HR asked if I'd consider a lower title, and I said I'd consider a Senior Associate title and compensation. The HM interview was scheduled very early, at 8 AM via Skype, and lasted 30 minutes with questions exchanged from both sides, which went well. The HM mentioned they were still interviewing others and would update me in 1-2 weeks. I sent a thank you note and expressed my interest. After a week, I followed up again with both HM and HR, and then received an email saying they had chosen another candidate. I thanked them and expressed interest in staying connected on LinkedIn, but they never accepted my request. No hard feelings though. BP Medicines seems to have a good pipeline, especially in oncology, and could grow into a large company. I'll try again.

I applied for the job and heard back from HR and the Hiring Manager within 10 days for a phone interview. Then, I was invited for an in-person interview where I met with 10 different people for 45 minutes each to discuss my experience. Unfortunately, I was rejected without any explanation. My research suggests this company might prefer hiring people they already know, which makes me question why they conduct interviews. My advice to other job seekers is to avoid this company.
