Software Engineer Intern
After they accept your resume, the first thing to do is an online test assesment with questions about soft skills and also technical skills. After you pass the test, the next thing is an 45 min technical interview, where you are requested to solve a small real-time algorithmic and programming problems and also answer some basic theoretical computer science questions. After you pass the technical interview, the last one is a discussion with the HR and some extra questions about your personality
- Can you describe how you would build a min stack that has a constant time complexity for finding the minimum element?
Senior Software Engineer
It was a 4 or 5-step interview process. First, there was a generic questioning round where they asked everything from relevant CS topics to totally irrelevant ones on networks, protocols, and anything else you could imagine. Then, a pair programming round, followed by a more general system design discussion. The biggest issue was the lack of clarity about the actual job opening. It felt like there wasn't a real position, and they were just running interviews for appearances. Nobody could tell you which team you'd join or at what level, which is supposedly decided after you finish the whole process. The interviewers, while mostly polite, seemed uncomfortable with some parts, feeling that many questions were like a quiz and unrelated to the job. The overall vibe was that the interviewer wanted you to fail rather than succeed. After 5 hours of interviews, I felt key architectural issues weren't discussed, which says a lot about the process's usefulness.
- Could you explain the lifecycle of a network or HTTP request, and discuss how to enhance its performance?
- Discuss ways to improve the performance of a network/HTTP request.
Software Engineer
So, the first thing was like a quick chat with HR, about half an hour. Then we moved on to a coding interview, which was like 2 hours long, and I did that with one or two of the team leaders. The last part was a technical discussion, lasted about an hour and a half with a couple of team leaders, and then a system design case study, that was with the VP of engineering and it was 30 minutes.
- Can you design a system to limit the rate of requests?
