It was a pretty standard interview process. They asked me about past experiences dealing with upset customers, specifically how I managed to fix things when a situation was going badly. I was also asked about my strengths and weaknesses, and why I thought I'd be a good fit for the role.

The interview process included a phone screen, a remote interview, and an in-person interview. The recruiter was very rude and did not listen to me. I had an MBA on my resume, but I put that my highest degree was a bachelor's on the application. I told the recruiter this multiple times, but she must have misunderstood and told her boss. Her boss then told me I wouldn't get an offer. It was a terrible experience, especially after they made me wait for two weeks. They also told me not to quit my job because of a security process that takes up to three weeks. Be firm on your salary expectations, as they will try to lowball you.

Behavioral Technical

I was contacted by a recruiter from BCBSRI, completed an online assessment, and then was invited for an in-person interview around October 2010. This involved a four-hour drive to Providence, RI, and an overnight stay, to meet with four people, including my potential manager. There was a second round of interviews in early December, again requiring a four-hour drive each way and an overnight stay. After hearing nothing by mid-January 2011, I contacted my potential manager and was told no decision had been made but was asked if I was still interested. A month later, I learned through a third party that another candidate was hired. While I understand choosing another candidate, I would have expected an email acknowledging my two in-person interviews, especially given the travel involved and lack of compensation.

Behavioral Other

The interview process was really drawn out and lacked transparency. I was told delays were normal because the company took a while to make decisions, but I didn't hear back after my fourth interview for almost 2 months, and by then, the new hire was already in place. The people I interviewed with were great, but the process itself was disappointing. Candidates shouldn't be ghosted after putting in time for 4 rounds.
