Information Security Specialist
I applied for this job back in April, and then did my college graduation in July. I applied in late May while still finishing up school. For those 2 months, I didn't hear anything back, so I decided to go to their office to check on my application. I found out they didn't actually have my resume, even though I could see they got it from my online application. Later that same day, the head of HR called and gave me a bunch of assessments to do for the next step. I finished and sent them back the same day. A week went by with no word, so I called to check on my application status. Five days after that call, I went in again and left my name asking for an update. Again, their HR department ignored me. It's now September, and it's been almost 4 weeks since then with no contact. This company is just totally unprofessional, and I really don't recommend wasting your time with them.
- General questions about the position and my schoolwork related to it were asked over the phone.
- Then I had to complete four different assessments: one for writing, one for reading, one for general comprehension, and a basic math test.
Care Management Coordinator
The recruiter at BCBS of MS reached out to me about this job after seeing my resume online. I wasn't actively job searching but was open to a new role. The process involved several online tests, some done at home and some on-site. I had two on-site interview visits, meeting with at least three different people each time. While the facility, cafe, and gym were impressive, the general demeanor of the employees seemed quite depressing. Initially, the recruiter was very communicative and positive. However, juggling the tests, interviews (phone and in-person), and even shopping for specific work attire as instructed, all while maintaining my full-time job, was very stressful. After about a month, communication became sparse and updates stopped. Two months after the first contact, I was finally told they were moving on with other candidates. I'm very disappointed by the lack of communication and professionalism; it was a very unusual experience. One of the phone interviews had to be rescheduled multiple times, despite the recruiter saying it 'never happens' – which is ironic because the same thing happened to me with them less than two years prior! This experience made me realize how fortunate I am with my current career and colleagues. I suspect this company might not be a great fit for people who value strong communication, being treated professionally, or are very 'people' oriented. Waiting two months for a response is unacceptable; my time is as valuable as theirs. I won't waste any more time with this company.
- What are your expectations regarding training at BCBS?
Customer Support Analyst
So the interview process kicked off with a phone interview. After that, I had to do a few things like an aptitude test, a questionnaire, and a written assessment, all of which I passed. Then, it was time for an in-person interview at the office. I first met with the recruiting manager, then my recruiter, and finally the customer service manager.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What do you consider your greatest strengths?
- Regarding your past roles, which one had the most structure?
Applications Developer
I applied online and then got a call for a phone interview. That interview was mostly about my resume. After that, I had to take an aptitude test and do a writing assignment to see if I could think logically and write well. Then, I had an onsite interview with two developers where they asked about my programming language experience.
- What was on your resume?
- Can you describe your experience with various programming languages?
