First we had a quick phone chat, then we met up face-to-face for the contract offer. Once that was accepted, we did the employment paperwork right then and there so I could get paid by that Friday. Then my regional boss, who just hired me, gave me an introduction to the company and went over some scenarios about what's expected on the job. After that, we drove to the stores I'd be located in. Then there was online homework that I was also paid to complete, like watching videos on how to approach people in stores and getting general info about the company and all they do.

The first interview was a phone call, it was pretty chill. They talked more about the job than asked me stuff. Then there was an in-person meeting with the hiring manager, which was also pretty low-key, though I guess it might differ with managers. The person who hired me was really relaxed but still professional. It was like a typical interview with a lot of casual chat about pets and food and things like that. For this job, I'd suggest wearing khakis and a polo shirt because that's the uniform and your clothes are gonna get covered in dog hair, pee, and drool. If you dress too nicely, they might worry you'll get upset if your clothes get dirty.

So after you apply online, they'll give you a call if there's an opening. First, there's a quick phone interview, nothing too tough, just to see if you get the job. Then, they'll set up the main interview. You should dress business or business casual – no jeans allowed! The interview is usually at a coffee shop and it's pretty chill. They want you to talk a lot and share personal stories, especially about your pets, since the job involves a lot of storytelling. It's good if they see you can chat easily. They'll ask about your pets, so have some good stories ready.

I went through several interviews and then got an email saying I was in the final interview stage. But before the final interview even happened, they emailed me to say they had hired someone else. It was a real mess and showed a lack of basic courtesy, which is a bad sign of unprofessionalism from the company.
